Doggie Tee Contest Giveaway!

February 24th, 2011

A couple of t-shirts with our logo were made for us recently at the night club opening party at Fetch Club.

Turns out they don’t fit Starlet. So we posted them on our Facebook Fan Page earlier this week asking what kind of contest we should run for them.

Almost immediately a very long time online acquaintance posted that her lovely girl Gracie, who has to where t-shirts every day to protect her skin, could use a new tee. OF COURSE! IT’S YOURS GRACIE!

Now that made us think, that is so us! You NEED = we SOLVE. SIMPLE!

That brings me to the one tee we have left. It’s a size Large, American Apparel doggie tee. Click here for sizing chart. We’d love to give away the tee to a dog in need!

If your dog has a has a special need for this tee, please tell us why in the comments below and we’ll pick somedoggie in need.

If your dog doesn’t need the tee but you would love them to have it anyway, that’s cool too, just tell us why. You’ll be in the running.

Oprah To Interview He Who Shall Not be Named?!

February 17th, 2011

An interesting thing happened the other day.

Oprah’s people announced she would be interviewing “He who shall not be named”. Well, it’s “that football player”, you know the one.

Personally, I refuse to pen his name (or key it in) because I refuse give him the recognition, or the SEO, by doing so. Yup, I didn’t even tag him on this post.
Grrrrr that football player!

Not surprisingly, as soon as the animal community got word of this, mayhem broke loose. Many posted on their blogs, on Facebook and tweeted Oprah on Twitter, to express their disapproval.

My dog Starr & I went on a little Twitter campaign. Starlet spoke quite eloquently on behave of her species, with her Grrrrr’s!

We were all too pleased when an announcement came yesterday by “He who shall not be named’s” people, that he was postponing the interview.

Personally, I really could care less about why. I’m content it isn’t happening. For now.

I hope that with some time to reflect on this, that Oprah reconsiders the interview altogether. I love O. I do! And I can see that her point of view may be different on this.

Like interviewing the group of pedifiles last year, she wanted to gain insight to the way they think, in order to help others understand how they groom their victims, which helps people learn what to look out for. That does make some sense to me. I get it.

But for “he who shall not be named”, the only gain I can see is more publicity for him and that I cannot wrap my head around. You know that saying that – any publicity is good publicity? In my personal opinion, attention to him ultimately makes his life easier.

Many have called for a show highlighting the dogs he tortured, where they are now and the people who breathed new life into them. That sounds like a much better idea!

What do you think?

Blogathon 2010 for Bradyn’s Seizure Alert Dog!

November 13th, 2010

We’re pawticipating in the Blogathon 2010 with 4 scavenger hunts! The cause this year is to help 4 year old Bradyn get a seizure alert dog from 4 Paws for Ability. He needs to raise $13,000, whew, that’s a lot! But it costs a lot to train these precious pups.

This is near and dear to my heart because Lambchop used to get seizures, so I know how upsetting that is and how not knowing when it will happen can be so worrisome. Bradyn will be so much safer if his family, and as he grows – he himself, would be if he had a dog that could warn them when a seizure is coming on. You can donate to Bradyn’s fund below. Be sure to SPECIFY “FOR BRADYN FERGUSON” IN THE DESIGNATION BOX.

SCAVENGER HUNT INSTRUCTIONS

Our scavenger hunts will be announced on our Facebook page where we will also post the clues and where to find them.

They may also be announced on the Pawcurious blog and they will all be announced on Twitter, under the hashtag #blogathon and from our Twitter username @lambybiscuits

You will need to ANSWER the questions to us on Twitter and enter @lambybiscuits AND #blogathon in your Tweet. Do not DM or direct message us, just a regular ‘ol tweet will be perfect!

Example from the first Scavenger Hunt earlier when we had asked 4 questions:

@lambybiscuits 1. Starlet 2. Coconut Oil 3. 6 months old 4. Cinnamon #blogathon

There may be a hunt where you have to take a photo of your dog with an object, so have your cameras ready and post the photo on Twitpic.com or any other site that allows you to tag us as above (@lambybiscuits with hashtag #blogathon).

Have any questions? Ask us! You can leave a message here, or post on our Facebook or Twitter pages and we’ll do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for playing with us. Good luck! We hope you win.

*Note: We can only ship in the USA.

Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet!

September 21st, 2010

This week is Petfinder.com’s Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet-Week, bringing awareness to and featuring pets that are most often overlooked in shelters. Some pets are simply because they’re the wrong color (for instance black dogs are often “less adoptable”), senior pets and pets with any type of medical issue, even very minor and treatable ones!

Lambchop

BlogPaws’ Be the Change and I are taking up the cause, spreading the word about the many great adoptable pets who sit in shelters or rescues for weeks, months or more waiting for “their person” to find them.

Let me tell you a little about Lambchop, a very special rescued dog. Lamby was a hard luck kid, who had a rough start in life – having been locked in a room for his first 6 months, banging his head against the wall trying to get out. Because of this tough start, he had many physical issues and developed medical issues throughout his life.
After he was rescued, he had episodes of paralysis that the vets could not explain. They thought he would outgrow it, which thankfully he did. He had seizures brought by any type of extreme fear of stress. Regardless, he was a unique and loving dog.

Outweighing all of Lamby’s “challenges” was his will and zest for life, his eagerness to please and be a part of everything.
Lambchop never let his problems sideline him for long. He had an amazing life, was loved beyond words and really was a part of it all.
He sat in on recording sessions with rock stars like Paul Rodgers (Free/Bad Company), (even dined with The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards), left his “mark” on the wall to Graceland in Tennessee, left a “gift” on Hillary Clinton’s parent’s lawn in Arkansas, and even had his very own motorcyle sidecar — The Lambchopper to take him to all the wonderful places he loved to visit!

Was there ever a moment that rescuing him was questioned? Never! We were lucky to have him in our lives. Even with all his health issues, he loved life and even left a legacy with Biscuits by Lambchop, created for him for his many special dietary needs but continuing his legacy providing healthy biscuits for other dogs with special needs!

Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet today. Chances are, they’ll be a most-adoring-loving-special-pet!

Watch Lambchop in his motorcycle sidecar riding through Times Square at sunset, flapping his beautiful ears in the breeze.

It Should Never Hurt to Learn!

September 16th, 2010

There’s a new initiative in town — to help protect our pets and improve their quality of life and learning — and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Never Shock a Puppy

Never Shock a Puppy is raising awareness about humane dog training and tools, and raising money for The Humane Society of Boulder Valley‘s No-Choke Challenge. The shelter will give out free gentle leaders to those who turn in their shock collars or choke chains, no questions asked, and they will educate them about no pain learning and training alternatives.

This shelter has also been overloaded with animals due to evacuations from the recent Boulder, CO fires. They have really have their hands full, but their Challenge is on! So let’s all help make it a success!

And while you’re at it, think about how you can Be The Change! For our pet’s own good and yours!

Be the Change Challenge

April 16th, 2010

Starlet
Starlet (when she was in waiting at the shelter)

After BlogPaws 2010 last weekend, a challenge was set forth. How many bloggers can be gotten to blog about being the change you want to see, at once? I know many are blogging, like pawcurious.com, aboutvetmed.com, romeothecat.com and many more (we’ll update you on all the do gooders after).

So what is Biscuits by Lambchop doing? We donated treats just yesterday, but we do that all the time so it’s really nothing new.

We have also started a Featured Shelter Pooch on our Facebook fan page. We are encouraging people to volunteer at their local shelter, get to know one animal well enough to really tell us about them and post their photo. We will feature them on our page, and try to help get their profile out there and maybe even encourage an adoption. When they’re adopted, we’ll send them our treats to start their new life off on a healthy path and we’ll send treats to their shelter for all the other pups in waiting (for adoption).

So go ahead, be the change you want to see. Bring some needed goods over to your local shelter, maybe sign up to walk dogs, clean kitty litter. Hey, when you do, please post about the great animal you got to know on our Facebook fan page.

To support the Be the Change Challenge there is a Paw Pawty April 21st from 7 pm – 1 am EST to benefit Pets Without Parents in Columbus, Ohio.

For more about the challenge, go to Pawcurious.
